Research title: From Entry to Exit: A comparative study of Internal Quality Assurance Systems in Graduate Training in Makerere University, University of Ghana and Cambridge University.

Research project: Dr Euzobia M. Mugisha Baine is working on a comparative study of Internal Quality Assurance Systems in Graduate Training in Makerere University, University of Ghana and Cambridge University. This study is aimed at exploring how various internal quality assurance mechanisms and processes of the three Universities are applied in respect of graduate education and research. The study is being conducted through interviews and documentary reviews, in close consultation with two Cambridge-based collaborators; one of which is an academic belonging to the Faculty of Education and the other a member of University Council and an academic belonging to Psychology. The results will be used to suggest ways in which current mechanisms operating at Makerere University can be extended both at Faculty/departmental and institutional levels. The assumption is that understanding the internal quality assurance systems and processes in respect of graduate training in other Universities will provide useful lessons for strengthening the quality assurance system at Makerere University.
