Launch of MUII featured in science development news

19 February 2016

Cambridge-Africa is part of the Wellcome Trust funded MUII plus programme which is featured in this interesting article below.

MUII plus is the name given to the second phase of Makerere University and the Ugandan Virus Research Institute (UVRI) partnership’s infection and immunity research training programme (MUII) which the University of Cambridge has partnered with since its inception.

A variety of perspectives are included from the directors to MUII postdoctoral fellows to Asuman Lukwago, Uganda’s Ministry of Health all of whom were present at the launch last month.

MUII plus builds on the first phase of the programme, MUII, which was implemented from 2008 to 2015 to help East African researchers pursue careers in infection and immunity focusing on endemic diseases,

The programme is funded by the Wellcome Trust and the UK Department for International Development under the Developing Excellence in Leadership, Training and Science Initiative (DELTAS).
