Developing Virtual Laboratories in Africa

28 February 2019

WACCBIP, which is based in Ghana and is one of the 11 DELTAS programme focused on health research capacity development in Africa  is developing virtual lab space to enable students gain laboratory experience. The University of Ghana is one of several African partners working with the Open University on the Open STEM Africa Laboratory app.  The app will enable teachers and students to access onscreen science experiments and simulations, helping them overcome the lack of laboratory space and equipment in many schools and universities.   Researchers at WACCBIP - the West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens - are helping design experiments to ensure that they have local relevance.
