Ms Caroline Tigoi
Ms Caroline Tigoi holds a Masters in Medical Virology from Jomo Kenyatta University and B.Ed Science degree from Kenyatta University. She has been working for KEMRI/Wellcome trust as a Research Officer managing a network of laboratories in 5 countries working on a project that is looking at causes of death in malnourished children. She has worked as a Project Manager at the Martin Lûscher Emerging Infectious Laboratory at the International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE) managing epidemiological projects on emerging infectious diseases. Before this, she had worked at the KEMRI/Wellcome trust in the EPI/DSS cluster and coordinated large scale lab-based epidemiological studies. Caroline has co-authored 8 publications. She is a very dedicated scientist and with a lot of interest in emerging infectious diseases. She is now keen to advance her career by doing her PhD and her study will focus on understanding tick-borne zoonotic disease epidemiology within the nomadic pastoral systems in Isiolo, Tana River and Garissa counties of Kenya.
