Cambridge-Africa PhD Scholarship Scheme
The University of Cambridge and the Cambridge Trust are generously providing funding to enable 35 (five per year for seven years) outstanding applicants from sub-Saharan African countries to study for PhDs at the University of Cambridge. There are no restrictions on subject areas, for these PhDs. However, preference will be given to applicants proposing to work on projects that focus on African priorities, and those who have links to African institutions. Applications for scholarships open in September each year, and close during the first week of December (exact date for each year will be announced when the call opens).
The first five scholars arrived in Cambridge in October 2015, for the 2015-16 academic year, and the Cambridge Trust at the University of Cambridge organised a reception for new African students on 14th January 2016 (photographs from the event are available at at https://www.flickr.com/photos/cctcot/sets/72157661406979514).
